If you mean a DSL outage then I *believe* that BT had a power
failure in the Reading area (from overheard comments).

failure in the Reading area (from overheard comments).
I did mean the DSL outage yes.

Why is it that major outages only occur when I really, really need
access to my DSL line :-)

That's correct. There was a power outage between 10:48 and 13:15, but
instability in BTs network until late afternoon due to problems getting
all the links back.

Apologies for the inconvenience - this was of course outside of our
control.
